Robert A. Schill, Jr. (updated 2004) received a BSEE degree (’79) at the Milwaukee School of Engineering , and both MSEE (’81) and PhD (’86) degrees at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He majored in plasma and controlled fusion with a minor in electromagnetics.

He taught and performed research at the University of Illinois Chicago between 1986 and 1993. From 1993 to present, he has been teaching and performing research at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). In 1997, he was promoted to Associate Professor. Dr. Schill is the founder and director of the Electromagnetics Laboratory at UNLV (established September of 1994). He is the director and co-founder of the Pulsed Power Research Laboratory at UNLV (established May of 2001) which houses the Nevada Shocker. Dr. Schill has published over twenty peer reviewed journal papers, secured a significant number of theoretical and experimental grants, and performed local community service annually on a professional level. He has been an IEEE member for over ten years and a Senior Member since 1993.
