Emerging
information technologies revolutionize education and improve it
dramatically. The new tools for developing courses and delivering the
knowledge are multiform. Multimedia, hypermedia and virtual reality
supported by the WEB, and computer based systems create the new learning
environment flexible to accommodate diverse learning groups. On the other hand, there is a tremendous need
in well trained, highly qualified and experienced graduates who are ready
to employ and design software and hardware components for complex information
systems practically in any area of human activity. This all
demands on improving curriculum, incorporating research into teaching at
early stages of academic study, designing multidisciplinary courses and
introducing the application driven design.
The purpose of the ITE is to promote discussion among industry and
academy people on the cutting edge of information technologies for
education as well as on practice of
development of IT program, innovative and efficient
methodologies of curriculum and course design, assessment and
evaluation strategies.
The
topics include, but not limited to
-Advanced use of
multimedia, hypermedia and virtual reality
-Application of artificial intelligence in learning technology
-Software of learning technology systems
-Integrated learning environments
-Internet based systems
-Distant Learning
-Application of instructional design theories
-Knowledge testing and evaluation
-Innovative teaching/learning strategies
